While it doesn’t come with the same onsite benefits as hotels in a higher category (such as the Universal Express Unlimited Pass and the water taxis from the parks to the resort) it does come with early entry into The Wizarding World of Harry Potter and complimentary bus transportation from the resort to the theme parks and Universal’s City Walk. Considered a Prime Value resort (in the same category as Universal’s Aventura Resort), the hotel is owned by Loews Hotels, the same company that owns other Universal Orlando hotels Royal Pacific, Portofino Bay, and Sapphire Falls (Cabana Bay doesn’t have the Loews name attached to it the way those resorts do because it’s considered a value product). Love it or hate it, check out Cabana Pool Bar yourself this summer. That’s why it makes all the more sense to stay in on Saturday night and to save your cash, body and energy for what will sure be an epic Sunday Funday. From the general admission wristbands ($20 a piece yesterday) to the VIP wristbands (another $20 a piece), to the bottles of booze and cab rides, a day at Cabana is no Sunday in the park money-wise. Ample security guards and even police patrol the area. And don’t try to sneak anything in (not that you would). Your day will be quickly ruined if you make it all the way down to Polson Pier only to have to cab home to get your ID. Take it from us: don’t forget your ID on a Sunday. If you decide to play hooky yourself when your friends are visiting, Cabana is now open six days a week (Tuesday-Sunday). It offers one of the most stunning views of the city, is guaranteed to be a party, and if he or she is looking for a vacation hook-up, they are sure to find it there. If you have friends visiting, Cabana offers a good choice in terms of entertaining this summer. This is far from the grub you’ll find at Wild Water Kingdom.Ī good option to entertain visiting friends. Come hungry, because Chef Jamie Meireles has also created a great Sunday brunch. You don’t have to worry about getting too drunk and falling in the pool thanks to the poolside food options offered by Oliver and Bonacini. If you can score a spot on the yacht, that’s the way to go, with the boat and the pool offering the best of both worlds. You can expect a dock of yachts filled with a dozen or so hot, young, bikini-clad females and a few token males who wrangled them up. On the plus side? Many reassured us that the freshman 15 was still a thing (yeah, we said it, and yes, it made us feel better).īabes and boats. Maybe we’re generalizing, but there seemed to be no shortage of guys and girls who were clearly fresh on summer break from university. We’ll admit we felt a little on the older end of the age spectrum looking around the sea of pool partiers at Cabana. Oh, and so do the juice monkeys and suspected strippers. Ample cabanas (17 to be exact) and booze-pumping bars add to the Vegas feel. ![]() ![]() This means flowing booze (no matter if it’s during the day), teeny weenie bikinis and blasting beats (yesterday’s opening party featured the sounds of legendary Pete Tong). You don’t need to travel all the way to Vegas to party it up the way you do in Sin City. If you didn’t check it out last year, you may want to hit Cabana Pool Bar at least once this summer.Ī Vegas vibe. But it does make for very Instagram-worthy pictures, ample entertainment value, and a day in the sun.
